Ro,gn < *Raguna- ?, with parallel forms Reginn < *Ragina- (or *Ragini-).
Webster's New World Dictionary states PGermanic *ragna- *ragina- "judgement,
counsel"; and also ON regin(n) (g.pl.ragna) "gods", lit. "the counselors",
as in Ragnarok, < IE *rek "to order".

Thus, variants *raguna-/ragina- seem to be different levellings of *ragna,
like Ódinn,Woeden (*Wo:Dina-) and Wuotan (*Wo:Dana-), from *WoDnaz/*Wo:Tnaz

Ro,gnvaldr is one of the names that devellopped more forms along European
languages: Ronald, Reynald, Reynold, Raynold, Renault, Reginald, Reginhalt,
etc. Cf.. Portuguese Ronaldo, Reinaldo, Rinaldo and Reginaldo.
