*****GK: Some scholars think that Alatheus and Saphrax
regents for Videric, the young son of Vithimiris
(Ermanaric's successor), represented the Alanic
component of the Greuthungian Goth polity. At any rate
that part of the Alanic component which had not (like
the Rosomoni) gone over to the Huns or rebelled.
Whether they were "divinely inspired" is not for me to
say. Most of the other Greuthungians accepted the
"divinely inspired" (I would guess) Balamber, King of
the Huns, as their supreme monarch. Balamber married a
Gothic princess.*****
