David, the translation, 'noble' should not be equated with the
English semantic expansions such as lords or kings.

The word, noble may be a synonym (close, very close)of: a respectable
or honourable or faithful man.

Arya is applied specifically to a Vais'ya in Va_jasneyi Sam.hita_ and
in Pa_n.ini: 3-1 , 103

arya = kind , favourable RV. i , 123 , 1; kind , favourable RV. ;
attached to , true , devoted , dear RV. ; excellent; a master , lord
Naighant.u

Take your pick; generally, a_rya seems to be a nice attribute to
distinguish a guy from, say, a rogue.
