Now there's (at least) two different *du's in Basque, and I don't know
to which on eyou are referring. One of them is merely a variant of
-tu after (some) sonorants (...n-tu > ...n-du). The suffix -tu, which
magically turns anything to which it's into a verb is *not* native
Basque, but borrowed from the Latin perfect participle suffix -a:tu,
-itu, -utu etc. The development into a "magic" suffix is a secondary
Basque affair.

It can't be related to the -tu suffix, which is post-Roman. However,
there is no objection (apart from the one that Basque and Iberian are
not known to be related) in principle to it being related to the
Basque verbal root *du(n) "to have", used in Basque as the transitive
auxiliary.
