A self-correction:
 
Read: "A voiceless fricative (*f, *þ, *x or *s) remains voiceless if it is initial or immediately preceded by a stressed _syllable_, ..."
 
This means that they remained voiceless also when separated from the stressed vowel by a liquid or nasal closing the stressed syllable.
