Thank you. It was a probably false impression of mine that you
objected to what I hadn't actually said. :)
By the way, Vanagas considers a Baltic archetype of the Dnieper-word
impossible as well. If I come across such a reconstruction, I'll post
ASAP. I knew too little of Gothic to come up with an explanation of
how Baltic, say, *Dun-up-e: could end up as Slavic *DUne^prU (via
some intermediate Gothic form).
