This has probably nothing to do with the discussion
about the "God" and "riches" word from Iranic into
Slavic. But I was always curious about the etymology
of the East European rivers "Bug" and "Boh". I read
somewhere (but forgot the source) that it might be
Germanic (like "bog" in English). This makes some
sense historically and geographically since the Bug
and then the Boh(Bog) are associated with verified
sites of the Gothic expansion into "Scythia". But does
it make sense linguistically?
