But cf. Lith. mir~ti, di`rti (acute agrees with Slavic *de'rti).
ve~sti indeed, but the Balts seem not to have such an emergency exit
as Slavic 'reduced grade' (by the way, I'm not sure it can be
postulated for Slavic as well). What would you suggest for Baltic:
**vsti? So Baltic basically behaves as expected. Some aberrance in
Slavic? I'll check OPruss in the morning.
