****GK: So EIEC does not accept the new 1rst c. BC
dating reported by Anthony in his ANTIQUITY article.
The issue is still debatable as far as they're
concerned? On balance though it doesn't really
matter.*****

*****GK: On its own the horse head means nothing,
whatever the date assigned to it, since there is no
reported evidence that it was not a captured wild
horse.*****

*****GK That is the conclusion the bits found at
Dereivka lead one to. The horse head seemed like icing
on the cake but it's not really necessary for the
point to be made. But if it's the bits that count then
the date could easily be older than 3000 BC. The
Dereivka site has been linked to Trypillja
(Tripolye)BII by ceramic imports thereto.*****
