Vakari`ne. 'of the evening' is a derivation from va~karas 'evening',
but I am not aware of such a goddess and doubt it ever existed. Looks
like an artefact of a 19th c. romantic writer (we have _hundreds_ of
such artefacts).

I don't know. At least the form is grammatically incorrect. The
correct form for 'The Gulf's Star' would be <ma~riu, z^vaigz^de.~>.
Your form suggests unattested, as far as I know, singular *maria
instead of normal plural ma~rios 'Curonian gulf'.
