Please

what Hellenic, Hittite, Luwian textual evidence is there that equates
the terms Tyrrhenas or Turan with the Anatolian Ilios, tribal Tros,
and/or the Dardana district? The only textual information I have
found ties the Tyrrhenas and by extension Turan-Tyran to the
neighboring Sardis and Tyras districts of the early Hellenic period
polity of Lydia. In the EBA or post-migration period this pattern
appears to be duplicated in the middle Mediterranean with the
Tyrrhenians and Sardinians. Tyras and Sardis were also districts of
the Arzawa kingdom, the storm god of whom, is recorded by the
Hittites as Tarhun-Tarkhunt. Tarhun-Tarkhunt is clearly a form of
Tyrrhena. Then there is the Arzawa and Mira king names Tarhun-daradus
and Manapa-Tarhundas. This is all fairly solid information.

Neither the Dardana nor Tros appear to have anything to do with
Tyras, Sardis, or Tyrrhena. The only connection I have found is
between the Italian Tyrrhena and northwest Anatolian Dardana. Here
the Dardana are viewed as a small aristocracy that relocated to
Latium. Additionally, the Hellenic sources are uniform in saying that
the destruction of Ilios and extinction of the Tros was one thing and
the Tyrrhenas migration was another.
