Yes, that seems to rule them out as a Germanic substrate. But don't you
think Italo-Celtic & Germanic could have had different substrates? If IndoT
was the Celtic substrate, Germanic must have had another substrate, no? I
read somewhere that megalithic sea-faring peoples lived in S-Scandinavia &
gave the Germanics words like "sea, drink, drive" etc. (strong verbs:
early?). What language could they have spoken if it was no FinnoUgric?
