Goths (or maybe the Goats)? Maybe these tribes were only related to each
other etymologically, using more or less the same name.

Dear Hakan,

    The Lapplanders may not be Indo-European Germanic language people but
thy may very well precede the Geats, Goths, Vendes et al and are just as much
Swedish in nationality as the rest of their brethern.  At former times there
were also Finnish inhabitants of Swedish territories.  Are any Finns left in
Sweden?
