kuningas <-> knyaz

Is there any connection between Germanic *kuningas "king" (as
borrowed into Finnish) and Russian (and Slavic) knyaz "prince" (where
ya < a nasal vowel). This would presuppose some Pre-Gmc. *kuníngas, I
suppose?
