BTW - why is your name pronounced "kwarrie"? What happened to the
first -r-? Isn't Crary just an Anglicized form of Mac Ruidhri anyway?
Not heard that one before. The name is a late 18th century
Anglicization of mac Quarrie, of the mac Quarrie formerly of Ulva and
Mull in the Western Isles. I'm sure you've heard of a few mac
Quarrie in your time. Still I've seen many spellings of the name,
even Mq'wharri. Its nothing less than strange what people can do with
symbols and sounds.
