Hey guys I have been attending your collective errudition with
fascination. I just want to point out that in the Bible somewhere an
assyrian army was chased away from attacking Jerusalem or Judea, by
Yaweh sending a "plague of mice". I wish I could remember the exact
sitation. Well, we know konw that extreamly deadly & contagious
HANTA Viruses are rat & mouse vectored; any population haveing no
built up immuneity to the local version of the virus, would be
Devastated by a new strain; and Apollo "the destroyer" (where is that
from, anyone know, I can't remember) who send shafts of (plague?)
arrows could definately be considered "mousey". Just a though . I am
not a scholar, just an avid lay comparative mythologist. ( ie: for
instance :
Lohengrin = Lugh' a Grienne; Loki= Lugh; Mabbon agrainn= Apollo
Maponos; (there is much of this sort of thing going on in the
Arthurian Material: Lancelot, Pelinore, Aggravaine etc. Is there
anywhere on the web that lists IE cognates in a systematic way?
Thank You.
