I agree formal documentation for Slavic myths hard to find,
especially for relative newbies to the craft like myself. However,
Slavic folklore is among the most virulent of surviving old
traditions, and supporting evidence can be gained from it. Whether
there is some neo-pagan conspiracy to connect Slavic folklore with
obscure Greek myth is not something I know a lot about, but it sounds
less plausible to me then the admittedly informal evidence I am
working with. Perhaps some authors improperly extended the well-
documented Indra-Vala myth to other similar deities, but as I just
posted, Veles and Perun are traditional enemies, and Veles is
associated with cattle, the underworld(Hermes cave?), and commerce.
So, I will stand by what I posted, and hopefully I can provide more
suitable references when my schedule allows it. --Mr. Caws
