A relation between Old Russian (I am not aware of this form in other
Slavic languages) VolosU:VelesU (nom. prop., skotIjI bogU 'god of
cattle' according to PVL) and Baltic *veln- 'devil' is problematic.
Even the Proto-Slavic form is hardly reconstructable. Old Russian
VolosU points to *VelsU or VolsU, while VelesU points to *VelesU (at
least if the developement was normal).
