derived from *k^ouH-ilo- 'empty, hollow, cavernous', which is an
adjective derived from the word *k^ouH-r 'cavern, cavity' ...
- Does it mean that there is a connection between the words "thellë"
and "shpellë" (cavern, hollow) ?

the verb root *deih2- 'shine' (related, BTW, to *dje:us 'daylight, Sky

of the same morphological base *dei-)...
If it's a comfort to you, Albanian ditë 'day' is supposed to come from
the related noun *dih2-ti-s 'brilliance, shining', which means that it
is also a member of that family of words.
- Then may I suggest that even Diell (Sun) which is to be met even in
the form of "Dje-" as in "e djelë" (sunday), or as some Albanians
pronounce it "Djell´" also derives from *dje:- or *dih2- and not from
*sh2ul-) > *swel-
In this case the sun root would be freed for "(h)yll".
