I'm sure you know when and
why the name "Gotenhafen" was coined and given to Gdynia. But Polish
archaeologists have long disembarrassed themselves of any silly nationalist and
anti-German(ic) biasses in their work. Actually, the past decades have brought a
great wealth of Gothic finds all over northern and eastern Poland, and any
archaeologist would be more than happy to discover an important Gothic
settlement anywhere, especially in Gdansk or Gdynia, to add the cities more
historical glamour.
