Illogical

>"Complete", my dear gLeN, is your word, not mine.

Thank you for clarifying. I accept that linguistics is partly
laced with "chaotic" or "chaotic-like" elements... erh, that
is, "chaos" being a synonym of disorder and confusion, not
as an erroneous synonym for the "chaos theory".

Stefan:
>Now you may may call the chaos theory irrational [...] However, take my
>friendly advice and don't call it such names outside this list.

One may call it so, but I do not. Your advice is unnecessary.
I did not confuse "chaos theory" with "chaos" as you may
review in my previous posting. Chaos theory is mathematical
and therefore logical. I was speaking of "dowsing" and
theories of this ilk whose very premises are logically
flawed and therefore easily and quite logically dismissable
outright for reasons of efficiency of thought.

>You have an endearing sense of humour and I like it, really. Chinese
>computer scientists think that feng shui is irrational? Wow! Do they also
>have the same view of acupuncture which came to our medical world from
>their country? I bet they do. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. An old
>formula for survival in a hostile environment. :-) They wouldn't dare to
>say that feng shui was rubbish to their pals in Peking.

That could almost be taken as offensive to my good and quite
logical friends. I know them better than you, so trust me
when I say that they are not into Feng Shui, just as a
Canadian like me isn't into dowsing, for the same reasons
- avoiding crackpot ideas that only invite chaos rather than
harnessing it... Isn't harnessing chaos with logic the
fundamental goal of your precious chaos theory? Acupuncture
is a seperate issue, seen to have some medical benefits as a complement, not
a supplement, to "Western" treatments. Its
basic premise is not entirely irrational as a method of
treatment. The premise of Feng Shui is fundamentally
irrational.

>>If we paid attention to every little theory from amongst billions that

>Dear gLeN, are you sure that you are not talking about yourself in this
>context? "Too confused and busy to find any truth"? No, I am sorry.
>Obviously you are talking about me as you are entitled to, although
>arguments ad personam betray >...uhmm, something..but what? a logical mind,
>perhaps.

Perhaps, but then we'd find both our logical minds betrayed
by the same vice.

>>Remember, put logic at the helm and subjugate your imagination to it.

>Sorry, buddy. I navigate by imagination 'cause logos rather than logic is
>my compass.

Indeed. Overcoming denial is the first step to recovery.
