Yes, this is correct. "Furta" is a misspelling for earlier "fórta", and that's a Mediaeval loan from Middle High German forte/phorte (now Pforte), borrowed from Latin.

But what is PTeut?? If you mean "Proto-Teutonic", if it now generally called Proto-Germanic; but the PGmc reflex of _PIE_ *prtú-s is *furd-.

But as a consolation prize for Thorsten's search you could, perhaps, offer him another kind of Polish "ford"? If I am not mistaken (with that old Brueckner anything's possible), "furta" and "furtka" ("gate", little gate) is related to PIE *per- via PTeut *prtu-s and Latin porta.
