I have to say that here in Portugal were found some testimonies of a
God named CROUGA. CROUGA with the epithet MAGAREAICUS. In Spain,
there is a CROUGIN. Both may be related to the Irish CROM CRUAICH,
passing through the Cymric PEN CRUG.
To CROM CRUAICH, young victims were sacrificed; to CROUGA, in one
inscription that we have, it seems that a young lamb is consecrated
to Him.
CROUGA, CROUGIN, PEN CRUG and CROM CRUAICH can all derive from an
indo-european root meaning stone, present in Celtic as craig, for
instances.
