Hi John, this is the equine (onager) draft animals from Ur. This isn't the
one I had in mind. What Alekseev was referencing was an early *relief*
dating to the third millennium BC in Iraq.

The Behistun Inscription is located on a cliff 100 meters off the ground
along the road between modern Hamadan (Iran) and Baghdad (Iraq) near the
town of Bisotun. In antiquity the road connected Babylonia and Media.

And since Persepolis is in Iran, that doesn't appear to be a possibility.

BTW, when I plugged "horse as a loading animal" into one of the search
engines, I found the Alekseev Ms. The web is WILD, WILD, WILD!

Any suggestions or clues as to where I could search for the relief would be
most appreciated.

Thanks,
Gerry
