Etymologically Polish rz = Czech r^, but in Polish the rolled pronunciation gave way to a pure fricative (postalveolar "sh" or "zh", depending on the environment) in the 17th century.
 
In Cyrillic script Przewalski's name is rendered as P-R-ZH-E-... in an attempt to transcribe the Polish stop+fricative cluster "p-sh" in a way consistent with the etymology of the name.
