I still don't get this Pexwr-Genos bit.

If Parjanya came from Pexw(o)r - gen(y)-os, his name would be Indic
*Purjanya or *Pavarjanya.

The more plausible exlanation is this:

We have a root *Per- "strike" (Lithuanian perti "whisk/sauna birch," Russian
prat "beat," Armenian har(k) "strike") which also had a few different
suffixes:
*Per-g-
*Per-kw-
*Per-g/kw-o/u "stroke/striker"
*Per-g/kw-o/u-n-yo "prone to thunderstroke"

These roots could then be further suffixed with a masculine divine
ending -n-os.

Thus, we get:
Hittite peruna "rock"
Greek Keraunia, Zeus (Terpi-)Keraunos ([*Perkwi-]Peraunos)
Old Prussian percunis "thunder"
Latvian Perkons (*Perkwawnos) "thundergod"
Lithuanian Perkunas (*Perkwunos) "thundergod," perkunas, perkunija
"thunderstorm"
Old Norse Fjorgyn (*Perkwuni) and Fjorgynn (*Perkwunos)
Gothic fairguni "mountain"
Vedic Parjanya (*Pergonyos) "rain god," Sanskrit parvata "mountain/boulder"
Old Russian Perunu (Perawnos) "thundergod," peregynia "wooded hill"
Gaulish Ercunia [Hercynia] (*Perkwuni) "oakwood"
Latin quercus "oak"
