Maybe. We-the-masters vs. they-the masters. I think it easier to think of them as 'we-the-masters', if at all.My own thought is that it's 'Lord of Us, the River People'.As for 'River People', I'm also thinking that these might have been those semi-agricultural 'river people' whose relatives herded cattle out on the far-western Steppe. Rather like village Arabs and Bedouins -- same language, same religion, even an intermarried genealogical tree, but quite completely different economic modes. The kind of thing that leaves no archaeological record.Yeah. Cowboys and farmers. Bread and beer traded for beef and butter.
