Steppe Pastoralism.

From recent publications I get the impression that the history of steppe pastoralism will have to be written again from scratch.

Just from our conversations here and the reading I've been doing as a consequence, I'm getting this impression too.

 

I think the discussion has to begin with the steppe 'tool-kit': wheeled vehicles, the oxen to pull them, and horses, together with all the skills and materials that go with it.
