I am not positive, but if the Eridanus is a Celtic word, it may mean
something like "East"-Danu (Eri= "fore/front," ie: "east")

What's problematic IMO about interpreting Eridanus as a Celtic hydronym is that it's actually Eridanos in Greek (no trace of a u-stem).
