One more obvious cognate of the 'kentron' et al. is Lithuanian
kente:ti/kesti (e nasal) 'to suffer'<'to suffer as from pain'. Surprisingly,
in Lithuanian both roots of 'kentauros' are left nearly intact: 'kent-' in
kenteti and 'taur-' in tauras '(wild) ox'.
