I remember reading many years ago that FUFLUNS was derived from Greek
BUBLINOS, an epithet of Dionysus; BUBLINOS being derived from BUBLOS. I
don't have the reference, though.
Perhaps somebody can provide derivations for the known Greek and Latin
names.
