Beware the confusion between movement of language and movement of people. I
don't think it's likely that the _language_ called Egyptian came from down
south. The AfroAsiatic languages (ignoring population movement) must have
come ultimately from the Middle East. I don't think that accepting an
Egyptian population movement from the south Nile however is in conflict with
the linguistic movements of AA languages.
