about the Phrygians

Hello,

I heard Herodotos had said once that two little babies were placed by the
Egyptian king Psammitikhos in a closed place. The only one who came there
was a shepherd who gave them food. Meanwhile Psammitikhos waited for the
children to start talking. The first word they pronounced was the Phrygian
word 'bekos' (= bread), which proved that the Egyptians weren't the oldest
people in the world.

I'd like to know if there are similar words from the same Indo-european root
in other languages and I'd like to know which Indo-european root this word
came from. I don't see any relationship with English 'bread', German 'Brot',
Latin 'panum' or Greek 'artos'.

I'd like to know your opinion about the story too.

Thank you.

P.S.: Could you tell me what the Sanskrit words for 'door' and 'gall' are.
