Alexander Stolbov asks
Mark, please inform me if you know any evidences concerning real wagons in Yamnaya culture intended for the transportation of serious goods (like grain or timber) or people. I know only that they were acquainted with the solid wheel and probably could use vehicles for ceremonies. Real wagons are found In the daughter cultures.
EIEC explicitly states the Yamna culture had vehicles (ox-drawn wagons). Such wagons, I believe, are central to the diffusion of the IE languages.
About the term "Yamna culture" (=Yamnaya culture = Pit Grave culture). Is this just an error or perhaps the Ukrainian variant of the term? If the latter I like it - the less letters to type the better
This is the terminology used by EIEC. For the most part, I discover myself conforming my own usage to theirs, though in the case of what they call the Beaker culture and the TRB culture seems to want something better and clearer.Mark.
