For more information on the I-E Dawn Goddess, you may wish to
look at:

While I disagree with their theory that Aphrodite is related to
the I-E Dawn Goddess, they both provide up-to-date and interesting
bibliography and theories on the Dawn Goddess in the I-E pantheons.

As for Helen and Menelaos' readiness to take her back again, bear
in mind that he married into the kingship of Sparta (the former king was
Helen's father, not his own). Menelaos needed to remain married to Helen
in order to remain king.
