I'm repeating my call for contributions to

 

THE FIRST-EVER PROTO-INDO-EUROPEAN PHRASEBOOK

(anticipating the invention of travel in time and Indo-European tourism)

 

Propose and justify briefly PIE translations of the following phrases:

 

GOOD MORNING.

 

THANKS.

 

SEE YOU TOMORROW.

 

(to a PIE horse:) MOVE YOUR BLOOMIN' ARSE!

 

(to a charioteer:) WILL YOU HAVE SOME MEAD?--NO, THANKS, I'M DRIVING.

 

WHAT'S YOUR JOB?--I'M A HERO. I RIDE HORSES. I SLAY DRAGONS AND BEARS WITH MY BATTLE-AXE.

 

I'M A SHEPHERD. I PROTECT MY LIVESTOCK FROM WOLVES. SO DOES MY DOG.

A fortnight has passed, and lo, no translations from ANYBODY! Gosh, don't you know how to say "Yes" or "Thanks" in PIE? (I don't, to be frank). Please, use your imagination, then, and MAKE UP some PIE idioms! I don't mind if they are crazy. I'll give all of you FOUR MORE DAYS.
