That URL was a bear (ESOL: troublesome/difficult) to try; between
Forbidden and Not Found, I re-tried maybe 15 different variations. The
line split and "%20" "space-code proxies" didn't help, either.

Try:
<http://lists.kabissa.org/lists/archives/public/a12n-forum/msg00312.html>

HTH, a bit.

I also tried <http://www.typeit.org>, and, sad to say, it didn't work at
all in Opera 8.02. The Control key qualifier seemed to ignore the
existence of that Web page, and did the expected [Ctrl + letter] function,
instead. Clicking on the supplementary-letter "icon" did nothing. Hope
others have better luck; it's a great idea!

Seeing that there are similarities, could a more-common subset of the Vai
char. set be assigned to the keyboard, and something like an IME offer
similar alternatives? That might be cumbersome.

It's not technically difficult to make a 256-key keyboard, although the
devil is in the minor details. (These numbers, 128 and 256 are powers of
two; 129 or 257 keys becomes rather messy and slightly inefficient. I'm
sure that that 128-key special I mentioned (on [vellum]?) had that number
of keys for that reason.

{Back down the rabbit hole, again... :) } Hope to catch up and read the
Qalam backlog soon; there are several other backlogged lists to read,
too...

My regards to all,
