Is there any DIY way of having the dead keys following, like Unicode
modifiers? It would be nice to type and see the basic form and then
add modifiers, but the Unicode proposal ruled out combining modifiers
for Vai. The argument was that the modifying marks were not
systematic; a better argument is that they could cause more trouble
for renderers than retroflex hooks.
