I guess I didn't make my point clear. What I meant was that the
native religious use kept the script inventory stable. I am quite
aware of the Christian use of the script in the Baptist church. I
have an article somewhere that surveys the remaining Baptist
churches that still used the script in the 90's.

How does Christianity contribute to script stability? Especially
when new orthographies and translations are produced to keep the
Bible contemporary and unambiguous.
