I was not pleased when I felt I had to spend $75 for the giant
coffee-table book on writing edited by Chrétien (is that her name?
Christain?) when it turned up at Barnes & Noble (the real one, on Fifth
Ave. at 18th St.), and then it turned out that the text is nightmarish.

But NYU for some reason has a copy of the French original, and the fault
lies not in the authors, but in the translators.

Still, $75 is a lot.
