Being somewhat computer-oriented, I respectfully and gently disagree. I18n
of computer software seems to be happening in many places, and those doing
it are, most likely, rarely linguists; any help they can get is of
benefit, I'd say. The discussion of BiDi, as well as Arabic joining and
shaping in the Unicode book has, I suspect, helped several developers.
