Again, Unicode is not intended to reflect theoretical linguistic
models. It's intended to be a practical solution to getting the
languages represented on computer systems. If we occasionally use the
language of linguists without the precision or in the exact way a
linguist would use it, this is partially a reflection of the fact that
not all linguists agree with one another, and partly a not uncommon
phenomenon where one branch of human intellectual endeavor borrows the
language of another, transforming it in the process.
