no, AUDITORY is about how your ears work; "acoustic" is about the sound
waves as they travel thru the air (or other medium, e.g. when you're
talking under water).

articulatory, acoustic, and auditory phonetics are all extremely important
to understanding the nature of speech sounds, and therefore to
understanding how they correspond (or not) to graphic symbols in writing
systems.
