Dear Sayalay Dhammanandī,

Welcome to the group discussions. There is much one can learn from a word
like "brahmavihārī". My latest interpretation based on the Kaccāyana-vutti
(532) is that it refers to an individual whose conduct is perfect for
living. The feminine counterpart is brahmavihārinī.

With mettā,

Jim

Dear Jim, Petra and Bryan,
Thank you for your patient replies and references. I had initially posted
this question to Sayalay Cālā Therī and she felt that it would be helpful to
post it to this group.
I am still a beginner in Pāli study, so I will carefully study your
responses. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
