I think we have actually talked before, back in the late
90's. I was the Dhammanando in Iceland who posted sometimes
to Dhamma-list, and then to this list as Robert Eddison.
Back then I would have had about fifteen vassa. But I was
out of the robes for four years, so now I have only one. I'm
pleased that you yourself have managed to last.

That was the possibility I had in mind. The texts describe
many ways of currying favour with householders that can lead
to a monk being censured for kuladuussana. They read
remarkably like a list of things that politicians indulge in
during an election campaign!
