Tathaagatassa ca arahato sammaasambuddhassa, ra~n~no
ca cakkavattissa. Imesa.m kho, bhikkhave, dvinna.m
puggalaana.m kaalakiriyaa bahuno janassa anutappaa
hotii�ti.
The Tathagata, the fully enlightened worthy one, and
the universal monarch: The passing away, monks, of
these two individuals is to be regretted by many
people�.

�Dve�me, bhikkhave, thuupaarahaa.
�There are these two, monks, who are worthy of a
stupa.

Katame dve?
Which two?

Tathaagato ca araha.m sammaasambuddho, raajaa ca
cakkavattii. Ime kho, bhikkhave, dve thuupaarahaa� ti.

The Tathagata, the fully enlightened worthy one, and
the universal monarch: These two, monks, are worthy
of a stupa�.
