If  your discussions are "only" linguistics-related, then I'll simply wait and see who wishes to continue discussions here at Nostratica.  Yes, what happened at origins of language was that it began as a language group and then became involved in human evolution.

You can join if you like -- I stated that it's open membership.  However, my intention for this new forum is for serious, linguistics-related discussions, and I believe that I stated that quite clearly in the description.  You have your origin-of-languages (or whatever its name is) to discuss human origins and language origins.

Yes, thank you Andy.  I did read your description.  Sounds similar to
the group blog for Nostratica, except for the part about not
discussing "orgins of species".  IMO, all "origins" topics are
similar and this will perhaps be another focus of this group.  If
this group doesn't take off and if your membership is still open,
I'll consider joining.
