I’m not sure that ‘poetic’ is quite the right word, but it’s
certainly original! I can even see where it probably comes
from: Old Norse <humarr>, Icelandic <humar> ‘lobster’.
And I now find, rather to my surprise, that German <Hummer>
‘lobster’ is a borrowing from Scandinavian, as is French
<homard>, both apparently in the 16th century.
