I agree that it looks very much like a misspelling. As a champion misspeller myself, I would like to take credit, but the text comes from the people who created the video, and I have no explanation how they came up with that spelling.
When I was looking for the link to the video, I did a web search for something like "Old Icelandic Conference," and I was surprised by the number of conferences, so you probably will have additional, earlier, conferences you can attend.
