Þórð had that beginning of the award, that he declares that
he shall have good luck who has chanced to get it; said

[things] that had occurred at Þórsness, nor bodily injury,
but he declared the field spoiled by blood shed in hatred
that had fallen (on it), and declared that ground now no
holier than (any) other and named those the cause of this,
who first set about doing bodily harm to others.

But so that they might be well reconciled and friends
thenceforth, he ruled that Þorgrím Kjallaksson should
maintain half the temple and have half of the temple tax and
similarly the þingmenn half, (and) also support Þorstein in
all (legal) cases thereafter and strengthen him in whatever
sanctity he wants to lay on the þing, there were it is next
established.

In other words, Þorstein gets to decide to what extent the
next location of the þing is to be considered a holy place,
and Þorgrím is obliged to support his decision.
